Recruitment agency employ English champion

Recruitment company Alexander Rhodes Associates have teamed up with exciting English middleweight champion ‘Smokin’ Joe Mullender ahead of his IBF European title tilt live on BT Sport on December 9.

Stephen Rhodes, a former gym mate of Mullender’s, was keen to bolster his friend’s chances of winning the title by handing him a financial boost ahead of the contest.

Alexander Rhodes Associates’ logo will be placed on the Essex fighter’s kit when he faces Welsh national champion Lee Churcher on the bumper Frank Warren show at the Copper Box Arena, headlined by IBF super-middleweight champion James DeGale.

Joe Mullender (10-2) vacated his English championship in order to progress to European honours. If he comes through his 13th professional fight successfully, not only will he land the IBF European belt but also a top-15 world ranking with the respected organisation.

Director Stephen Rhodes commented on the partnership, “I’ve known Joe for years and have sparred with him many times.

“I wanted to help him in his career and managed to align him with a sports agency to handle all of his PR and commercial interests.”

Established in 2005, the London-based recruitment business have an extensive track record of delivering critical business search assignments for some of the UK’s leading names in digital, software, and date and technology.

Alexander Rhodes Associates specialise in helping startups, fast-track, and growth businesses find and secure key leadership talent.

Mullender added, “I’ve known Stephen for a while and I’m really grateful for his sponsorship. It all helps with the training costs and sparring I have to pay out for.”

The middleweight ace furthered, “It’s my first time fighting on BT Sport and I’m never in a dull fight, so I promise I’ll steal the show on December 9.”

Trained by Jamie Williams at the Legends Gym in Romford, the 160-pounder will fight over 12-rounds for the IBF title that instantly propels the winner into the top-15 of the International Boxing Federation world rankings, mixed with names such as David Lemiuex, Daniel Jacobs and Jermall Charlo.

Joe’s IBF European title fight will be televised live on BT Sport and Box Nation TV on December 9.
